Busy bee

Contrary to my earlier claim, I do NOT have more time to blog. In fact, I am even busier. On Wednesday, I caught the 0650 KF flight and visited the branch, which is in Navi Mumbai, after which I met Shaavi over dinner at Tea Center. He put me on a train back to the guest house, which is at Santacruz. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, even though it wasn’t crowded.

Yesterday, I went to the Head Office at Churchgate, after which I met Shaavi at Ruby Tuesday. Atul dropped me back on his new Royal Enfield. The ride through Marine Drive was awesome, Today, I was back at CBD Belapur and have come here to the airport directly. I’m blogging to keep my eyes open long enough to board the KF flight back to Bangalore. I was supposed to have flown yesterday, but I had more work to do, so I stayed back to complete it.

Last Friday was catching up day, with my meeting Vineeth and Tanya for lunch at their Oracle office, which I can see from the building I work at. RV drove over too, and we had a good time. The Volvo 355E is very convenient transport to and from office, so no more hassles with auto and all. Sunil’s place in Marthahalli was totally inaccessible and highly inconvenient, so I’ve shifted to Abesh’s place off Airport Road. I did get to meet more CV folks last weekend.

On Saturday, Sandeep picked me up from Diamond District, where he’s going to move in next month. We went to Shaggy’s place. They’re both staying at locations reasonably close by. We went to Unwind Island on Outer Ring Road for lunch and a swim, but proceeded to Lemon Grass, because the swimming pool was being cleaned. I met up with Ashok there.

Monday was a holiday, so I went to MindTree. It took me a solid two hours to get there, but it was worth it. I stayed almost four hours, and met everyone, from Sameer (IIML chap interning there) to Rama (who has head of my vertical when I was an employee). There is even a new building! Time passes so fast, it just feels like yesterday that I handed in my papers.

I’ve got to meet Pankaj tomorrow or so, and Aravind too, who’s suggested that we go paintballing. Nice plan, that. I’ll have quite some work over the weekend though, consolidating all the learnings of the past few days. I don’t like Bong fish in mustard, which I tried at a roadside eat-out which Abesh took us to. Mallu fish anyday! That reminds me, I’ve to lunch at Surya mess if possible.

The flight is delayed, hence the long post. I’m in a bit of a cash crunch situation, so folks who owe me money, please do drop in cheques to ICICI Credit Card No. … hehe, I’m not going to put it up here, although a fair bit of L people already have it on slips of paper in their wallets. Grr.. But you guys could top up my Vodafone mobile phone number …. Nah, I don’t want arbit people calling up and disturbing me at work. That should give you a fair idea of how busy I am.

I’m reading ‘The Silmarillion’ on flights and in cabs, and it’s an amazing book alright. Quite the scripture for LOTR fans, sans any religious connotation. When I unwittingly renamed myself Sauron on MSN, I had no idea how immense he really is. Tolkien’s a wizard, nay Eru, at names and languages and fantasy. I cannot imagine how one person can create so much in one lifetime.
